Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s my delightful apple pie I made for my family!

Tomorrow is the one year mark to our wedding. It is absolutely insane that I have been planning my wedding for six months already. Seriously? Where has the time gone? But I couldn’t be more excited. The future in-laws met today at my house for an amazing fried turkey (thanks daddy!) and it went really well. We both have awesome parents and our families meshed really well. I couldn’t be happier!

My hair piece came in, and it is so beautiful! Occansey Designs did an incredible job, and it was only $10 (on sale), plus shipping. So now I’ll just need to get a birdcage veil to attach to it. This is the direction I’ve decided to go in, against a traditional cathedral veil. It’ll save me some money, and I just feel like it’s really more my style. One more check!

Also – I never wrote this because I was way to lazy to update, but last Monday I got to meet Ted Allen from Food Network! He was hosting a food and wine festival in Daytona and he stopped into my Starbucks for a coffee Monday morning! He was pretty quiet, bought a venti black coffee, an orange juice, and the N.Y. Times, and he didn’t tip. But it was really awesome seeing him in real life! Pretty cool moment.

And tomorrow is Black Friday! The real holiday as far as I’m concerned :] Can’t wait! Hope everyone stays safe, and hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with friends and family!

What an exhaustively long weekend. I worked extra hours and ended up sleeping for twelve straight hours. TWELVE. I must have been tired. Anyways. My favorite person on the planet, Becca, came over today from Orlando and we made an apple pie. It was so relaxing. I love her.

Anyways, I came across this really cute save the date in a blog. I forget which since I was reading like, a million today. But it’s super cute for anyone having a lot of out of town guests at their wedding. I may include cards like this with my invites, since about 85% of my guests will be out of town.

To-do list for my 3-day trip to Stuart in January;

  • appointment with A Piece of Cake for final tasting.
  • appointments with tent vendors
  • hair appointment
  • engagement session scheduled with Ashley Cohlouer
  • figure out catering, schedule appointments

Going to be a busy three days, need to prepare now! Lots of big checks out of the way already. Need to get my save the dates printed and in the mail sometime within the next two months. Next week is Thanksgiving, and Jeff’s parents are going to Stuart with Jeff and I to meet my parents. In-laws meeting in-laws! It will definitely be an interesting trip down south.

I’ve been working on a possible Save the Date design. Obviously I shouldn’t spend money on having someone else do these when I am more than capable of doing them myself. So here’s what I’ve come up with. I’m still making minor adjustments as I feel necessary, but I thoroughly enjoy this design. What do you think? I’m kind of in love with it. I think it’s very much so my and Jeff’s style, and matches the wedding, and is modern and clean.

Anyways, that’s it for today. Nothing new. Maybe photos later from my pastry class 🙂

Today was seemingly productive:

1. Confirmed engagement shoot with Ashley Colhouer for January 5th. Very excited about this. Need to think of places between Ft. Lauderdale and Martin County to have an amazing (anti-beach) shoot. Any ideas? I’d love to hear them. Leave a comment!

2. Appointment with Event Makers, followed immediately by appointment with Premier Party Rentals for January 6th. This will be huge to get out of the way because literally everything we will be needing will be from one of these two companies. Hoping we can do a little negotiating.

3. Getting my windows tinted in my car over Thanksgiving weekend. Very exciting news, my little baby Mazda 3 is gonna look super nice. Huge great big thanks to my grandma for this one.

4. Went to a presentation today by Warren Brown, founder of cakelove in the Maryland, DC area. What an amazing and inspirational baker. He makes me want to open my own bakery. Obviously this was the point of the lecture, but seriously. He has a bagillion awards, and has been on Food Network and in all kinds of publications. What an awesome dude. Look him up! You’ll enjoy it, promise.

All I need to do tomorrow is set my hair appointment for later on in the day on January 6th, and I’ll be all set. Thanksgiving is next week and I’m so excited. Jeff’s parents are coming down south with us to meet my parents. Nerve-wracking, yes. Super exciting, yes. I’m also going to bake an apple pie for the festivities, which will be fun because I don’t get to bake much for my parents. Totally ignoring Jillian Michaels next weekend. 🙂

Super productive weekend down south, and honestly, it’s been a pretty productive week.

{1} Ashley Colhouer: booked. Amazing, amazing photographer. I am so lucky to have found her, and to have her want to shoot my wedding. You can check out her work at www.1313blog.com … I absolutely love her, and her husband Phillip, and they’re freaking adorable baby Nylin. I can’t wait for our engagement session (yes, I’m doing a second one, mostly for a cohesive body of work for my whole wedding experience), and to work with her for the next year before my wedding.

{2} Guest list: Semi-finalized. I know it’s early for this, but since we’ll be renting everything from one company, and need to have that meeting in January, I want the guest list final as soon as possible. The less we have to worry about this in the long run, the easier our lives will be. We’re pretty much only inviting family and long term family friends, we want to keep it small and intimate, and (most importantly) easy to manage. So ta-da. We have a semi-finalized guest list.

{3} Hair piece: Woohoo! I ordered my hair piece from Occansey Designs, and it shipped out on Friday! I cannot wait to get it. I haven’t decided yet if I’ll be having a veil or what kind of veil if I do decide to have one, so I can easily get one attached to this piece. Here’s a picture from the website (more to come when I receive it).

{4} Shoes: My shoes had been shipped to my mom’s house (due to my bad schedule and shady neighborhood, just to be safe), and I hadn’t seen them yet. This was like Christmas morning opening up that box, seriously. I love them. I want to marry my shoes. I ordered them off of Amazon, and were only $34. They also had the same shoe in perfect, matching colors for my bridesmaids. They match without being match-y. Hi, I’m Taylor, and I’m addicted to shoes. Here’s your pictures.

{5} Rings: Okay so this isn’t really a check, but we’re only two payments away from having our wedding bands completely paid off, and we just finished paying off my engagement ring. For someone who makes slightly more than minimum wage, trying to plan a wedding and start a life with somebody, this is very exciting. And it’s not even like we picked out cheap rings to “upgrade” later, we picked out the rings that we loved and are working out butts off to pay them off, and we’re almost there. I’m so excited about it that I wanted to post about it. So there.

That may be everything, I’m tired just thinking about how busy this weekend was. I already have my 2010 calendar hanging on my wall because I have appointments and things set up that far away, it’s a little crazy and over-whelming, but very exciting. And meeting out photographer made things a little bit more tangible for Jeff, who is finally showing signs of excitement for the wedding. And the best part – he knows we’re going to have the best wedding ever. I love him.

Jeff Sniadach gave me a CD with the rest of the photos from the shoot. I’m so excited! They turned out really well. Here’s a couple more for you guys.

So there’s the highlights from my shoot. I’m really stoked that now I can start putting together my Save the Dates and my guestbook for the wedding with these photos! Things will be coming together soon.

Also – I started Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I feel like jello right now, and I’m on the third day. So we’ll see how it goes, and I’ll keep it posted how it’s working out for me. I’m not doing it to lose any weight, just to get into better shape and tone up some. Not gonna lie though, I’m really freaking sore. And I’m a big baby.

*EDIT* the layout of the photos looked super sweet in my post-edit-section and looks like crap when it’s published and I don’t currently care because I’m tired. So there.

Today Jeff and I took some engagement photos with photographer Jeff Sniadach. I’ve known him for a couple of years, he works near the Starbucks that I work at, and is in at least twice a day, so we’re pretty good pals, I’d say. Anyways, we spent about three hours shooting photos, and it was a blast. Even my fiance had fun, and he hates having his photo taken. We don’t have all of the images yet (obviously, seeing as he took over 300 and it’s only 3 hours since we got home…) but we have a couple of teasers that I’m posting.

So here you go! You’re daily dose of wedding porn, for your viewing pleasure. I can’t wait to see more, and as soon as I do, you will.

Not wedding related.

However, I made some awesome loaves of bread in class this week, and I’m going to brag.

My bread rules. And that’s all I have to say because I’m ridiculously tired. Only nine days until we get to meet with Ashley! I’m getting very very excited about this, and I cannot wait. Woohoo!
